Clayton and I were looking to stop at Atiamuri when we ran out of steam on our way home! Atiamuri was lovely, but many low trees so we pushed on to to this quiet little freedom camp, on SH 30 Ongaroto Road, Dunham's Point Reserve. It is a large reserve right beside the Waikato River, at the top end of Lake Whakamaru and next to the Whakamaru Christian Camp.

It has bins, toilets and a cold shower, not very flat, but lots of space, and lots of shade. I think it may be too wet and soggy in Winter, but fabulous in Summertime. Ongaroto road is a very quiet road.
