Akarana Caravan Club is an incorporated society governed by its constitution and bylaws. It is run by an executive committee elected at the annual general meeting, held in Auckland in July each year. Committee positions are open to all club members and a turnover of the committee members is encouraged.
The club is financed by member’s annual subscriptions to cover public liability insurance, production of the bulletin and other miscellaneous expenses. The subscription is set at the AGM on the recommendation of the treasurer. New members pay a one-off joining fee to cover the cost of name and van badges and stickers that are displayed on the vehicles.
The club publishes the “Akarana Bulletin” after each rally. This is emailed to members between rallies and has news of the last rally, upcoming events and any news that may be of interest to members.
